Murder-accused Jean-Lee Pyne, who was re-arrested last Thursday following his earlier release on bail, appeared in the Heidelberg Magistrate’s Court today on a second charge of murder and a charge of obstruction of justice.
Another two charges which may not be revealed at this stage, have also been leveled against the 30-year-old.
This follows the exhumation of a body in Arnoldi Street last week at a residence Pyne allegedly rented previously.
Speaking through his lawyer, Pyne suggested that he feared for his life following alleged threats from the investigating officer and other police officials.
The state in turn requested that Pyne be detained in custody at the Department of Correctional Services in Boksburg. This comes after it was alleged by the state prosecutor that cellular phones and drugs had been found in Pyne’s cell when he was being held in the Heidelberg Prison. It is unclear at this time as to where he will be detained.
Pyne will remain in custody until November 12 when he will once again appear in the same court.
