POLICE VEHICLE LOSES CONTROL, CRASHES OUTSIDE HEIDELBERG

A police van from Vanderbijlpark will most likely be written off, after the driver lost control of the vehicle earlier this morning (November 19) on the R42 (Heidelberg/Vereeniging road).
George Booker (Snr) of B-Inform (private detective services), who visited the scene, told Heidelberg Times that, according to eyewitnesses, the police vehicle lost control after failing to see another vehicle turning into one of the smallholdings close to The Ranch at Heidelberg.
The vehicle took out a power line support in the process. Eskom was quickly on the scene and are busy replacing the damaged pole so the electricity supply can be restored to the nearby smallholdings.
No one was seriously injured in the incident.
